This very rare silver mounted Bottle Cork has a circular silver top which is decorated with gadrooning and reeding below a large raying scallop shell and a shaped banner engraved with CLARET, which displays fine niello filled lettering. The banner is engraved on both sides and the quality is exceptional. This was a rare design produced almost exclusively by the quality silversmith George Pearson.

Length: 3.9 inches, 9.75cm.
Width, across the banner, 1.9 inches, 4.75cm.
