A Rare Pair of Napoleon III Gilt-Bronze Mounted, 'Boulle', Ebonised and Pietre Dure-Mounted Side Cabinets, By Befort Jeune.

This fine pair of ebonised 'Boulle' Side cabinets, are of exceptional quality with fine gilt-bronze mounts and beautiful Florentine Pietre Dure Panels.

Each cabinet has a moulded rectangular black top above a gilt bronze palmette frieze with a cupboard door below, with gilt-bronze borders centred by a finely inlaid pietre dure hard stone mounted panel depicting vases issuing flowers and fruit in high relief. The pietre dure panels include amongst other semi-precious stones rare agates and marbles. The central door is framed by uprights mounted with fine gilt bronze bearded term figures and the whole raised on a plinth base with a shaped apron centred by a mask and flanked acanthus.
