Painted with gilt roundels enclosing Chinese figures in landscapes beside pavilions, set against bands of gilt stripes on an orange ground between narrow pale blue bands.
Dieu was one of the most notable painters of chinoiseries, his mark of the Hebrew word for God in a triangle is a reference to his name perhaps with a Masonic reference.

The cup 6.6 cm high, the saucer 15.4 cm diameter.
Private English collection.
