The cast and gilt, repousse bowls in the form of a leaf with fruits including pineapple, peach and berries. Hallmarked London 1802. Maker’s mark: WE over WF for William Eley and William Fearn.

William Eley 1 was apprenticed to William Fearn in 1770. Their first mark in partnership was entered 4.1.1798, when they were registered as plate-workers. On and off, their partnership lasted until 1824.
