A Victorian Writing Prize in the form of a quill pen London 1850, Charles Reily and George Storer, Cased. The quill engraved 'Prize at Tonbridge School July 23 1850.'

Writing prizes in the form of quills, either in plain silver or silver-gilt, were supplied to Tonbridge School by the specialist smallworking firms Reily and Storer and Rawlings and Summers. The feathers took two forms either, as in this example, with a v-shape cut n the end, or, as with a rounded end.

The dimensions given below are for the quill without the case.
