A fine early Worcester flat based sauceboat moulded with foliate sprays and scroll-edged reserves painted in underglaze blue with The Sinking Boat Fisherman pattern of a man fishing from a boat near a rocky shore, the reverse with a man on a bridge and the interior painted with trailing leaves and flowers.

Workman's mark to base.

Slightly earlier examples of this shape are known both with polychrome and pencilled decoration.
