A relatively small striking four-glass mantel clock by this well-known maker. The eight-day duration, double-fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell with the backplate stamped with the serial number 463.
The square silvered dial has black Roman numerals, blued steel moon hands and is signed for the maker 'Jas. Whitelaw, Edinburgh', with a 'strike'silent' lever set above the XII o'clock.
The rosewood case has gadrooned moulding below the top moulding, shaped moulding to the base and stands on adjustable brass bun feet.
Recently restored, but will be re-done on sale.
