An exceptionally fine pair of early Georgian casters of typical tapered baluster form. Above the girdled belly is an armorial of a quartered shield within a wreath. The pierced lids are part blind so as to control how much is sprinkled out. Conforming finial and stepped circular foot.

Both identically marked for London 1723 by Thomas Burridge to the bases and the Lion Passant and the makers mark to the lids.
