Bruce Talbot (1838- 1881) was one of the most influential designers of the Aesthetic period. Demand for Talbots designs increased. He was a commercial designer and very talented at absorbing the shifting changes of the public taste.
He was very at home with the aesthetic design which involves ebonized wood, carving and painted furniture. He was extremely involved in the design of Gillows furniture in this period and created a number of pieces for the Gillows stand at the Great Exhibition in 1872.
