This fine Box has serpentine shaped sides and the sides, base and cover are also engraved with pluming scrolls and double shells on a scrach engraved ground. The cover also displays a raised scroll and shell border and a protruding scroll thumb piece. The base has a vacant oval cartouche and the cover is engraved with the following contemporary inscription: Presented to Mr Edward Morgan by the Managers of the Mertyr Tydfil Savings Bank for his gratuitous services as Actuary. The interior is finely gilded and is very well marked.
