| Item Description / Dealer Expertise |
The Candlesticks are cast and have shaped bases rising to a circular well. The baluster shaped stems are decorated with reeding and stylised shell motifs on the shoulders, as well as faceted decoration. The spool shaped sockets are also decorated with raised reeded bands. The Candlesticks are of an excellent weight and colour and are very well marked in the base. Lewis Pantin I was the grandson of the famous Huguenot, Simon Pantin I. Lewis Pantin I had workshops in Castle Street, Leicester Fields, when these Candlesticks were made. |
