A Very Good Pair of Georgian Cast Silver Candlesticks by Ebenezer Coker London 1763.


A very fine pair of George III cast silver table candlesticks with hexagonal shell scroll bases each with conforming hexagonal detachable sconce above foliate capped invert baluster turned and knopped central column. Rope twist decoration to capital and lower knop. Shell and scroll adorned shaped base with engraved armorial of a lion.

Both sticks marked to the inner underside for London 1763 by Ebenezer Coker. Lion Passant to the capitals and Lion Passant and the maker's mark to each sconce.

These are a very attractive pair of tall candlesticks by specialist candlestick maker Ebenezer Coker.

Diameter of bases: 14cm or 5.5 inches


Weight: 1246g or 44 oz
There is no damage or repair. Very minor wear to the high points of the decoration. The marks are very clear to each base and the maker's mark is a little rubbed on each sconce. Both stand true and upright on a flat surface. In superb original condition.

Good colour and patina.
