A good Victorian walnut and inlaid games/sewing table, circa 1850, the shaped top with quarter burr walnut veneers inlaid with floral scrolls in boxwood and swivel opening to reveal an inlaid boxwood and harewood chess board, and a boxwood, purpleheart and harewood inlaid backgammon with central cribbage board, having been closed for most of it's life it retains the striking original colours of the veneers and inlays,the pullout frieze drawer with original divisions and velvet, storage for needlework and games pieces and pullout wool basket with original paper beneath, raised on turned and foliate carved supports with carved cabriole legs united by a turned stretcher, standing on white ceramic castors, a very original and undamaged piece.
