The Spoons, which are of a large size, were most probably made to serve dessert or fruit and have finely gilded egg shaped bowls. The spoons are modelled in the very rare Bacchanalian pattern depicting Bacchus, vines and fruit, reclining nude figures and wild wolves. The reverse of the stem is decorated with vines, a wine ewer and Classical motifs, as well as a very unusual crisp female mask on the reverse of the bowl. The decoration is in particularly crisp condition and the top of the stem is engraved with a contemporary Crest. Each spoon is in excellent condition and is very well marked. This is an extremely rare pattern originally designed by Stothard. The Lias family were one of the few firms who made this pattern and their work is of exceptional quality.

Length: 7.1 inches, 17.75cm.
Weight: 14oz the set.
