The Jug stands on a most unusual shallow circular pedestal foot which is decorated with reeding. The main body has a circular baluster form rising to a reeded rim and the "harp" shaped handle is also decorted with reeding. The main body is beautifully engraved with unusual crisp designs including foliate scrolls, trailing vines and wavy bands containing roundels. The front of the Jug is also engraved with a crossed branch cartouche, engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. The Jug has a gilded interior and is very well marked under the pouring spout. We have only seen this design once before, also by the Hennell's, therefore we can conclude that this must have been a design which was peculiar to their workshops. This piece is of a very good weight and is in excellent condition.

Height: 5 inches, 12.5cm.
Length, handle to spout: 5 inches: 12.5 cm.
Weight: 8oz.
