A Victorian Regimental Table Lighter formed as an Elephant, London 1886, George Fox for Lambert's of Coventry Street. The howdah engraved on one side with a presentation inscription to the Officers of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment.
George and Charles Fox were suppliers to the retailers Lambert's on a large scale over several decades.
Good with a repair to seam on trunk [the body of the elephant is cast in sections with seams]. Minor bruising to howdah and some surface corrosion marks to interior.
