The Porringer is circular in form and is decorated, on the lower half of the main body, with alternate swirling flutes and lobes below a punched band of stylised foliate motifs. The upper section displays a protruding lobed band, below an engraved band of crescents and stylised flower heads. This example has two cast "S" scroll handles, is engraved on the base with two contemporary initials, and displays a good set of hall marks on the side of the main body.
