A particularly fine and elegant late George III longcase clock in a restrained and well-proportioned case of architectural design, veneered in well figured mahogany which has achieved an excellent colour and patination.

The case which resembles closely those of Vulliamy stands just over 7 feet in height. The 12 inch square brass dial is finely engraved and has a silvered finish and an inset subsidiary seconds dial.

The high quality five pillar movement has dead beat escapement, hour strike on a bell and comes with its original brass bob pendulum, a pair of brass capped weights and in all probability its original crank winding key.

Height: 85 ¼ in (216.5 cm)

* The well-known partnership of Allam and Caithness succeeded Allam and Clements in 1800 and are recorded on page 11 of Brian Loomes’ Clockmakers of the World - 21st century edition.
