An 18th Century Bristol or Liverpool Delft Earthenware Dish - possibly attributed to The Redcliff Back Pottery and possibly by Frank Richard; the dish of tin-glazed earthenware, painted in wonderfully bright colours with a Chinese landscape scene of a man holding a fan, crossing a bridge from an island with a distinctive gnarled trunk and yellow and red-leafed tree to another island with a red roofed house and a rocky outcrop, a blue roofed temple behind, in the distance and to the rear, two peaked mountains of green and yellow and in the foreground another island above which a sailor steers a sampan

The markings on the back are very similar to a Liverpool plate in the Williamsburg Collection - see page 170, plate 295 - and also to a plate from Bristol - see page 172, plate 300
