A George II finely carved mahogany armchair, the arms ending in cabochons, below which is stylised leafage incorporating 'C' scrolls, with 'C' scrolls to the legs, which are carved with hairy knees and end in paw feet. The back legs are particularly fine in this chair as it is unusual to find such detail, shape and quality on an 18th Century back leg. The chair is upholstered in modern bottle green silk velvet, the edges finished with green tape and lacquered brass nails.
