A well carved figure of St Anthony the Great, a popular saint in medieval times and famous as the Father of Monasticism and for curing the sick of skin disorders. He is shown here with his pig, whose lard was used for in the cures. St Anthony is the patron saint of the poor and needy, as well as sausage makers and butchers.
