The Salver stands on four cast panel feet, with a beaded edge. The raised rim displays a double beaded border and the centre is engraved with a shield shaped Armorial, with Crest above, all surrounded by a beautifully engraved cartouche of crossed branches and flowers below, and foliate garlands and medallions above. The Salver is of a very good weight and colour and displays crisp marks on the reverse. Robert Jones was a specialist Salver maker whose quality of design and production was exceptional. The Arms and Crest are those of the Bourne family impaling the Bellew family of County Chester.
