This outstanding example stands on four detailed cast winged paw feet, modelled in the manner of Paul Storr. The rim is decorated with gadrooning and displays two recesses for pens. The square bottle cages are decorated with unusual vertical linear designs and are held in place by a series of nuts underneath. These can be removed for cleaning. The three cut glass bottles, for pounce, ink and wafers, are cut with diamond pattern and have removable covers with a gadrooned edge. Two terminate in ball finials. This piece is in excellent condition and is full marked on the underside of the stand and on the covers of the bottles. This partnership of silversmiths are well known for the quality of the items they produced, very much in the style of Paul Storr, and of equal quality.
