The Tapersticks stand on square stepped bases, below a swirl fluted section, which is decorated with a bold gadrooned band. The beautifully shaped stems are also decorated with swirl fluted sections and corded bands. The detachable nozzles, again, display, swirl fluting with scroll ends and a corded rim. The sockets, at the top of the shaft, are engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. The Tapersticks are of an exceptional weight and are fully marked in the base. This design was not produced in great quantity, mostly in the 1760's and early 1770's and examples are highly desirable today. It is uncommon to find Tapersticks in pairs as they often come singly.

Ebenezer Coker was a specialist Candlestick maker of fine quality and had workshops in Clerkenwell Green when these Tapersticks were made.

Height: 6.45 inches, 16.13cm.
Base Diameter: 4.25 inches, 10.63cm.
Weight: 16oz the pair.
