The Candlesticks stand on a stepped square base which is decorated with gadrooning. The central shaped shaft is baluster in form and displays an attractive section of swirl fluting at the base, as well as gadrooning and fluting up to the socket section. The detachable square nozzles display an outer gadrooned band, also shown on the main section, and are engraved with a set of contemporary initials. Each piece is fully marked in the base and with the sterling mark on the pull-off nozzle. This pair are in excellent condition and are of a very good weight.

Ebenezer Coker was a specialist Candlestick maker, who was working in Clerkenwell Close when these Candlesticks were made. His output is always of the finest quality.
