This exceptionally rare piece is realistically modelled as a Barrel with plain horizontal bands to simulate the metal hoops. The sides are engraved to the highest standard to simulate the wooden staves, as is the cover to simulate the planks. The pull off cover can be removed to reveal a breath taking gilded interior. The plain body displays a full set of hallmarks, as does the rim of the cover. Biscuit containers modelled as Barrels are extremely rare from this early date and the ones made by the fine quality silversmith, John Figg, are the most desirable. The quality of the engraving is some of the finest we have seen over the years.

Height: 6.5 inches, 16.25cm.
Diameter, at the widest point: 5.5 inches, 13.75cm.
Weight: 26oz.
