This magnificent piece displays a twisted handle with bi-furcated end where it is attached to the bowl. The plain lobed top of the handle terminates in a bell finial and is engraved with a double reeded band and " John Young 1787". The circular bowl has an everted rim and is chased with swirling feathery lobes. The centre of the reverse of the bowl is engraved with the Crest and Motto of the ancient Gray Clan of Scotland. This piece is of an exceptional weight and gauge, the quality of production being outstanding. Twisted stems are a very rare characteristic of Scottish flatware, not often seen on Punch Ladles. A very unusual and rare piece of Scottish Silver.

Length: 15.25 inches, 38.13cm.
Diameter of the bowl: 2.75 inches, 6.88cm.
Weight: 6oz
