An Important and Exceptionally Rare Gilt-Bronze Mounted Empire Style Mahogany Salon Suite by Joseph-Emmanuel Zwiener.

This fine salon suite comprises of a canapé, four fauteuils and two bergères. It is richly ornamented with gilt-bronze garlands of laurel leaves, stylised flowers and anthemion devices. Each chair has a top rail in the form of a scrolling acanthus pediment centred by a stylised anthemion, with padded backs and seats upholstered in fine tapestry covers depicting birds, animals and flowers within foliate and dentil borders.

The padded arms are put down on exceptionally finely cast and chiselled gilt bronze sphinx supports above gilt bronze mounted legs with paw feet.
