This chimneypiece closely follows typical designs of Inigo Jones and William Kent first popularised in late 1720’s and later in the 1750’s by Isaac Ware.

The Statuary shelf protrudes over the centre and the jambs. The lower part of the cornice with ovolo above dentil mouldings. The Statuary central tablet carved with a woven basket of fruits and grape leaves symbolic of the season Autumn, flanked by Sienna panels. The tablet drops into the moulded architrave below.

The jambs are fronted with solid Sienna free standing tapering columns, deeply fluted and capped with Ionic order caps in Statuary. They stand on statuary rounded socles on low footblocks. The back pilasters also of Sienna and upheld by taller footblocks.

The opening is framed by Statuary egg and dart mouldings.
