An unusual Victorian silver novelty cigar lighter formed as an oil can, made by Joseph Braham and hallmarked in London 1890 also bearing the retailer's mark on the base of Thornhill, Bond Street, London. The top of the can unscrews to reveal the wick and chamber for the oil.
There are some fine scratches to the surface. At the top where the wick fits in there is some small pitting to the silver. It is part hallmarked on the base, fully hallmarked on the body and part marked again where the wick screws in to the body. Please note the weight includes the inner workings of the oil can and is for guidelines only.
