Additional Information:

Groth was a German born artist who was appointed Painter in Enamels in Ordinary to George II. Enamels by him of Clemens August Elector of Cologne, Princess Elizabeth Caroline, Princess Louisa Anne and possibly Frederick Prince of Wales are to be found in the Royal Collection. Although not signed, the strong delineation of the eyebrows, shadows down the nose and thinly drawn mouth with emphasised top lip and greenish yellow stippling on the face are all typical traits of Groth's hand
