Andrew Fountaine, bronze medal, 1744, J. Dassier, draped bust right, ANDREAS FOUNTAINE EQ. AURAT, rev. inscription in four lines, 56 mm (MI. 590/236). About extremely fine.


Sir Andrew Fountaine,(1676-1753. Warden of the Mint (1727-1753).The legend on the reverse alludes to the motoes on Roman coins and as such his wardenship.
