'Angling & The Anglers Repast', a rare pair of reverse painted mezzotints laid down onto glass within period 'Hogarth' frames. Published by P. Dawe, 44 Wells Street, London and Fox & Not Court, Cow Lane. August 1809.

This pair of prints are derived from the paintings by George Morland (1763 - 1804), an English painter of animals and rustic scenes. In 1786 he married Anne the sister of William Ward, artist and engraver. The original paintings are essentially group portraits of friends enjoying a day's fishing. The figures include Morland himself, Anne Morland, John Raphael Smith, and William Ward with Mrs. Ward; the party is attended by a black servant.
