A rare piece of social history is this superb Scrimshaw "cutthroat" razor, belonging to a Sailor who was a Whaler from Hull...it is beautifully engraved with two Whales on one side...and a Whaling Ship and Whaling scene on the other...it is signed W.Wells Hull. The razor is made by the Cutler to his Majesty, Joseph Rodgers, No 6, Norfolk Street, Sheffield.
Excellent condition.
