The realistically modelled pheasant is embellished with thirty Old European cut and seventy-one Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes dependant on position within the design.
A natural ruby cabochon represents the pheasant's eye.
The bird's legs, and the upper and lower borders of the body have a textured finish.
This fine and impressive example of diamond jewellery crafted by the renowned London goldsmiths Garard & Co. Ltd., secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety catch fastening.
The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card, and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 carat gold.
This stunning antique brooch is fitted to the original hinged leatherette, satin and velvet lined presentation box which bears the retailer's mark: Garrard & Co. Ltd, Goldsmiths, Jewellers &c. to the King, By Special Appointment to the Crown. Haymarket, London. to the interior of the cover.
