The surface of this fine example of antique silverware is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials ‘R.S. to M.W’.
The collet foot and subtly flared rim of the mug are encircled with an applied gadroon style border.
The mug is fitted with an S scroll handle with a plain thumbpiece.
The hallmarks to the underside of this impressive mug include:
Maker’s mark: J.Curry (John Curry, active between c1825-1850)
City mark: Phila. (Philadelphia, PA)
This antique mug is an uncommon piece of silver due to the rarity of production.

Diameter of rim 8cm/3.1"
Diameter of base 5.7cm/2.2"
Height to top of handle 8.5cm/3.3"
