A beautiful full pile antique Borjalou Kazak rug woven in the last 1/4 of the 19th Century in remarkable original condition. These type of rugs from the Caucasus always have a striking latch-hook zig-zag border which makes for a striking design. The pile on this antique Kazak rug from the Borjalou tribe is full, glossy and extremely soft. The yellow dye is subtle with the rich red and royal blues enhancing the charm of this caucasian piece. This is a striking rug that is extremely collectable and very rare to find a caucasian rug in such immaculate condition with no old repairs. The Borchalu of Borjalou were a Mongol created tribe who settled in the area of Georgia that borders on present day Armenia and Azerbaijan.
