A very rare 900 Silver Menu Holder made for the Scottish Regiment of the Shanghai Volunteer Corp. The Shanghai Scottish Club was original founded in 1868 so the Scots could play cricket against the Shanghai English. During the International Settlement period in Shanghai teams of rugby, cricket, football and lawn bowls became a very important part of the sporting life in Shanghai. The club ended in 1942 when the Japanese invaded but it was re-formed in 2012. Members must be Scottish or have strong Scottish connections. The Stewart Hunting tartan being the official tartan worn originally by club members.
