The body of this impressive dish is embellished with a fine and impressive band of tapering pierced decoration above applied grape and vine design.
The decoration to the body incorporates a semi-circular inset handle to either end.
The rim of the dish is ornamented with an applied scroll connected alternating leaf motif decorated border.
The well of this fine example of antique silverware is plain and unembellished.
The underside of this silver bread dish bears registration number ‘9497’.
The hallmarks struck to the underside of this impressive dish include:
National mark: Crescent moon and crown
Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000)
Maker’s mark: Bruckmann & Söhne
Retailer’s mark: Eugen Marcus
