Antique Davenport – Victorian walnut Davenport writing desk

This beautiful antique Victorian walnut Davenport/writing desk ca. 1870 has raised shaped back above an ogee shaped compartment for storing stationary. The fall front has a moulded edge with faux leather writing insert and walnut cross branding. The interior has two faux drawers and one small working drawer. The lower section of the antique Davenport has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with turned handles and faux drawers on the opposite side. It has beautifully carved scrolled brackets and turned upright supports. The antique Davenport has a few minor old repairs, stands on four turned bun feet and is a rich golden walnut colour with a Striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
