This exceptional antique Edward VIII sterling silver spirit kettle has a plain rounded bullet shaped form in the classic George I style.

The globular body of the kettle is plain and unembellished.

This antique silver kettle is fitted with a plain flush hinged hallmarked cover which retains the original pear wood and sterling silver topped finial; the flush hinge indicates the exceptional quality of this piece.

This fine example of antique teaware is fitted with a hallmarked hinged handle ornamented with impressive lobed terminals, in addition to the original stitched leather bound handpiece to the centre; the leather to the handpiece replicates the style of an original period piece.

The lower portion of the exceptional spout has a panelled form to a plain collar and bears a scalloped socket in addition to a chased decorated leaf design to the moulded lip.

The kettle detaches from the original hallmarked sterling silver stand, supported by three impressive scrolling legs and lobed feet.

The stand is embellished with an impressive pierced circular motif decorated border and stylised bud and leaf band.

The stand incorporates a plain frame which retains the original integrated spirit burner accented with a hallmarked hinged snuffer.

This exceptional sterling silver spirit kettle, crafted by the renowned London silversmith Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd, is a superior gauge of silver for its type.
