Antique Edwardian Glass and Sterling Silver Mounted Claret Jug

The upper portion of the plain glass body is fitted with a fine and impressive sterling silver hallmarked mount with a waisted neck and retains the original hallmarked hinged cover.
The cover is surmounted with a simplified scrolling leaf decorated thumbpiece.
The lower portion of this silver mount, in addition to the undulating rim and lip are encompassed with impressive applied bead decorated borders.
This antique claret jug is fitted with a plain narrow loop style handle embellished with graduating bead ornamentation to the sides.
This impressive jug is supported by an impressive hallmarked sterling silver foot encompassed with further applied bead decoration.
The underside of the jug bears the retailer's mark 'West & Son'.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover, in addition to the underside of the foot are all very clear.
