Antique Edwardian Pair of Sterling Silver Peppers Arts and Crafts Style

The surface of each piece of antique silverware has a planished finish in the Arts and Crafts style.
These large peppers are fitted with the original push fit hallmarked domed covers embellished with pierced shaped 'pepper' holes.
The covers are surmounted with impressive sterling silver, rounded urn style finials.
Each pepper is fitted with three impressive scrolling handles with Arts and Crafts style bifurcating upper and lower terminals.
These impressive silver peppers are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior and secured with a push fit catch.
The interior of the exceptional presentation box bears the retailer’s mark ‘Silversmiths, Hall & Co, King St, Manchester’.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each pepper and the rim of each cover are all very clear; the maker’s marks show signs of wear, but remain legible.
