The surface of the jug is plain and unembellished.
The lower portion of the jug is simply ornamented with a convex domed band around the rim of the base.
This jug retains the original very impressive narwhal tusk* handle with plain impressive shaped sterling silver sockets.
* A narwhal is a medium sized toothed Arctic whale, the male of the species being characterised by its single 2-3 metre long tusk. The tusk is actually an incisor tooth which projects in a left-handed helix from the narwhal's upper jaw.
