The incurved panelled body of the cream jug is embellished with exceptional chased decorated segments illustrating bordered simplified floral sprays on a matte background.
The decoration to the body incorporates a vacant bordered cartouche to one side.
The rim of the cream jug is encircled with an applied shaped floral and foliate decorated border.
This impressive example of Edwardian silverware is fitted with a scrolling handle with a bifurcating lower terminal in addition to an applied floral motif and elevated scrolling leaf decorated thumbpiece.
The upper plateau and underside of the swan necked style spout are embellished with paralleling panels displaying exceptional and large chased stylised floral designs on matte backgrounds.
The jug is supported by a shaped domed foot, encompassed with further floral and foliate decoration on a matte background.
The interior of the jug bears the original gilding.
Cream jugs of this style and shape are highly desirable.
