Look at what I found on the Online Galleries website!
The anterior and posterior of the case is embellished with tooled decoration replicating the details of the football's leather panels and ties.
This piece retains the original hinged cover ornamented with a continuation of tooled decoration.
The vesta is fitted with a ring loop attachment to the side in addition to an integrated serrated panel/match striker to the underside.
* This spherical ball is used in Association football, more commonly known as football/soccer. This piece depicts a period ball of leather panels sewn together, with a latex bladder to regulate the pressure; the prior use of a pig's bladder brought about the American slang-term of "pigskin".
0.6 troy ounce/17.8g

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique Edwardian silverware.
