The surface of fine example of Georgian silverware is plain and embellished with a crest depicting an armoured arm embowed holding a flag charged with a greek-cross.
The swept Chippendale style shaped border is ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rim.
The waiter is supported by three volute scrolling feet, each ornamented with a simplified leaf design.
The underside of this antique waiter bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin Brothers, 66 Cheapside.E.C. 220 Regent St. W'.
