The head of this impressive insect style brooch is embellished with two Old European cut diamond eyes and scrolling antennae.
The thorax of the insect is ornamented with an impressive feature 0.73 carat Dutch cut diamond.
The paired, pierced decorated wings are embellished with thirty-eight Old European cut diamonds of various sizes dependant on their position within the design.
The abdomen of this stylised insect displays a feature natural cabochon opal.
This early 1900’s brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and push fit security fastening.
The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report certificate for the feature diamond, in addition to the independent diamond grading report card shown.
This antique brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18ct gold.
