The panelled capitals are encompassed with bands of applied moulded decoration.
The tapering panelled columns feature stepped hexagonal knops to the upper and lower portions.
The columns surmount a plain domed portion of the stepped hexagonal base accented with an incurved collet style rim.
These antique French candlesticks, crafted during the reign of His Most Christian Majesty The King Louis XVI, have fine colour and patination*.
The hallmarks struck to the underside of these candlesticks include:
Maker's mark: PJ (Philippe Jouque)
Assay mark: AR (Arras, France)
Silver purity: .949 standard - indicated by assay mark (949/1000)
