The surface of the bowl is plain and embellished with two bands of tooled decoration to the flared rim.
The bowl is fitted with the original domed hallmarked cover, which is encircled with further tooled decoration.
The multi-functional cover features a circular spreading foot to the anterior surface, acting as both a handle and a supporting foot to the stand.
The underside of the bowl is ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials ‘AH’, in addition to the full hallmarks.
This impressive piece of Georgian silver teaware is an exceptional example of its type; sugar bowls such as this, with the original cover/stand, are increasingly difficult to locate.
Diameter of body 11cm/4.3"
